I ordered Açaiberry Exclusive and Life Cleanse. I had to pay separate shipping and handling charge of $3.95 each, as stated on their website. I received a confirmation email on April 10 (same day I ordered) that the order was received. The transaction went through April 12 for payment to the company.

Two email confirmations (one for Açaiberry Exclusive and one for Life Cleanse) were received. Each email indicates:

Your statement will reflect that you have been charged by"the company's website" in the amount of CAD 3.95. VAT included where applicable.

I was expected to pay 2x$3.95 CAD = $7.90. I checked the credit card statement April 19 and the total charge was $7.61 CAD each, so $15.22 in total. The product is coming from Great Britain and the conversion rate was 1.8 and therefore the cost for each product $7.61 CAD each. I called this misleading and could add to the category of being "scammed." In addition, a UK telephone number was on the email. I am going to follow up on this charge with the company.

Since the company has my credit card number from the shipping and handling charge, they could continue to charge and send me monthly products unless I cancel within 14 days. It takes the company 3-5 "business" days to send out the product but consumers only have 14 "calendar" days from the purchase date to try the product. Together with our slow mail system, I would only have no more than 7 days to try this product.

I read in some cases that some consumers were still charged the exurberant amount for the product even though they have cancelled the order by the 14th day. The reason: it takes a few days to process the transaction.

I have already cancelled mine by sending the company an email. I received a response that tells me they will respond in a day or two. I will also call my credit card company before the 14th day and advise them not to accept any payment request from this company.

Protect your finances and ensure that you read the small fine print in the terms and policy page. Be diligent in calling in prior to the end of the trial day. Pay attention to the "business" days verses "calendar" days. Add in the mailing time as well.

Açai berries are extremely beneficial to our health and the environment. The products made from these Açai berries are worthwhile to purchase but find a company that is legitimate and have excellent business values and practices.
